Banff Harbour Update:
All 14,000 tonnes of bund material is now out of the harbour basins. James Forbes' team removed the last 4000 tonnes over the last few days using a long reach excavator, for the hard to reach places.
The Wyre Sands dredger is due to join us next week and begin the clear-out of all the basins. The Northern harbours team is on standby to assist the Wyre team by moving the pontoons and remaining vessels around the basins to allow appropriate access.
Keith Simpson stonemasonry team continues with their work on the East Pier decking stones and now has just 100m3 to complete it.
We will be finishing off the deck to the Railway Jetty soon with installation of bollards and the davit foundation.
All vessel owners who have returned berthing applications for this year will be contacted just prior to the completion of the dredging operation to start planning the return of vessels to the Marina and provide free crane lifts as required.
The excitement is palpable as we finally near the end of the project and we appreciate everyone's patience as the work has progressed. Our team is looking forward to welcoming back all our clients and members of the public with the re-opening of the harbour and its marina next month. There will be some ongoing pier restrictions as the final touches are put in place but they will all be clearly marked and signed to avoid any confusion and keep people safe.
