Virtual Presentation to Outline South Harbours Improvement Plan - SHIP
Aberdeenshire Council is hosting an virtual presentation this week to outline its South Harbours Improvement Plan.
Last year, residents and businesses were given the opportunity to help shape the future of three council-operated harbours at Stonehaven, Johnshaven and Gourdon.
Following that public engagement process, the plan has identified a series of projects for each harbour which could, if progressed over the next five years, secure tangible benefits through addressing current issues and opportunities.
These relate to the following key themes:
- Harbour Infrastructure
- Harbourside Facilities
- Health & Safety
- Connectivity (interface of harbour & town/village & between the harbours)
- Place Marketing, Branding & Promotion
- Enterprise, Community & Participation
It is hoped that the plan and projects will capture future external funding to improve the harbours and facilities, support the traditional fishing industry and other local businesses as well as growing areas such as tourism.
The online presentation will be held via Teams on Thursday, March 18 at 6pm.
